People were feared trapped as firefighters rushed to Kirkham blaze last night

Firefighters feared people may have been trapped inside a property when they rushed to a blaze last night.

Crews from Wesham, Lytham and South Shore attended reports of a fire involving a domestic property in Kirkgate, Kirkham.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said it was believed there may have been people trapped inside.

On arrival firefighters found the fire involved a garden shed which was affecting a domestic property.

Everybody was accounted for and there were no casualties.

Crews extinguished the fire using two hose reels and two main jets.

They were in attendance for around 90 minutes.

Firefighters received the emergency call at 9.41pm.
