People urged to lower salt intake
Health chiefs across Lancashire have released a stark warning that too much salt can lead to serious health conditions, like high blood pressure, heart disease and even stroke.
Salt is often hidden in everyday foods such as bread, breakfast cereal, sauces and ready meals.

Hide AdThe daily recommended intake of salt for adults is around a teaspoon.
Jenny Broom, healthy lifestyle advisor at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said: “Small steps to reduce salt intake can go a long way in improving health and prevent serious health conditions.
“You don’t have to be adding salt to food to be eating too much – 75 per cent of the salt we consume is already in the foods we eat every day.”
