A PLANESPOTTING pensioner deliberately carried out a sex act as a teenager walked past his car on the perimeter of Blackpool Airport, a court was told.

Keith Painter, 73, of Gloucester Road, Ansdell, pleaded guilty to intentionally indecently exposing himself when he appeared before Blackpool magistrates.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, told the court how, on November 8, a 17-year-old male was walking through the Squires Gate Industrial Estate when he saw Painter in a parked Nissan Micra.

As he walked past the car, the teenager saw Painter performing an indecent act and looking at him.

When interviewed by police Painter said he visited the area regularly to watch planes.

The defenedant had a previous conviction for indecent exposure last year.

John McLaren, defending, said: “My client has consulted his doctor and been referred to the community mental health team.

“He is awaiting an appointment with a psychiatrist.”

Painter was bailed to January 20 for pre-sentence reports by Deputy District Judge Jim Clarke who was sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
