A man described as paranoid grabbed another man by the throat and screamed at him to say who his girlfriend was sleeping with.

Steven Wright also kicked a door off its hinges, broke photograph frames and punched a pane of glass in another door.

Wright, 26, formerly of the Crossland Road, Marton, now living at Norcliffe Road, Bispham, pleaded guilty to assault and damage on April 28.

He was bailed for pre-sentence reports at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the couple had been together in an on-off relationship for six years.

Wright’s girlfriend said she believed he used cannabis and was at times paranoid, believing she was having other relationships.

Howard Green, defending, said the couple had been living apart since the incident.
