Two men rifled through store rooms at a large seafront hotel, magistrates were told.

Thomas Garrity and Toby O’Hare entered the Savoy Hotel, on Queens Promenade, via an insecure door.

They got into the basement and started to steal food.

Then they turned their attention to a function where they stole a sound mixer and lighting control unit.

Garrity, 20, of Ailsa Avenue,Blackpool, and O’Hare, 19, of Coop Street, also Blackpool, both admitted theft of property worth £500.

They were each given a year’s supervision and ordered to do 115 hours unpaid work for the community.

They were also ordered to pay £250 compensation each.
