Owls and violinists for a truly happy day

Bride Katherine Parr said her wedding day was like a dream when she married finance director Christopher Reece.

They tied the knot at All Hallow’s Church in Bispham before a beautiful reception, complete with owls and violists, at The Villa, Wrea Green.The couple, of Upwood Close, Bispham, met through mutual friends and they became engaged on Christmas Day 2016.Christopher, 34, presented Katherine with a Harry Potter dressing gown as a gift - but with a proposal hidden inside the pocket.That triggered two years of preparations for their magical wedding day.Katherine, 31, a humanities teacher at Hodgson Academy said: “The day started at mum and dad’s house, with the Dollz coming to do our hair and makeup. “All the bridesmaids and my man of honour Samuel, were there and when the mint green Bentley came, a rush of excitement came over the whole house!”When they arrived at church emotions ran high, but as soon as Katherine was at the altar with Chris, they calmed.“It was joyess and fun ceremony,” said Katherine, “we loved every second including my nephew jumping on my dress train and veil.“When we left the church we walked through a bubbles rather than confetti and the journey to the Villa was so calm with champagne, we wanted to drive for longer!”When guests arrive at The Villa, they had photos with owls and listened to violinists playing ‘Tale as Old as Time.” The evening kicked off with the first dance and the cutting of the cake before Kyle Passmore from the BBC’s The Band sang You Give Me Something’ by James Morrison. That gave the couple an opportunity for a second first dance.Katherine added: “The day was so amazing, it just seems like a dream. “We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends. I can only describe everyone, including us as happy’.
