Outdoor ceremony for Eaves couple
They have been through lots of milestones together - high school, sixth form and university but nothing quite as memorable as their wedding day.
Aidan Eaves and Robyn Starkey married at Eaves Hall on May 30 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony making the most of the glorious weather.
They are both teachers from Blackpool and met at Montgomery High School.
Aidan proposed in June 2014, days before going on a trip to the US in a rather unusual manner - 33ft up a tree at GoApe. He was nervous about proposing abroad incase he lost his baggage.
After graduating, Robyn moved away for a year to Newbury, Berkshire after gaining a place on a graduate scheme.
However this was exciting as Aidan and Robyn were able to visit places they rarely or have never visited in the UK such as London, Brighton and the Isle of Wight.
In late 2016, shortly after Robyn moved back to Blackpool, they booked their wedding day at Eaves Hall.
It only became reality that they were getting married earlier this year when Robyn was trying to organise a wedding, buy a house and make it through her teaching training year at the same time!
“The day was spectacular!” said Robyn, “we had always wanted an outside ceremony and a string quartet.
“The string quartet played some of our favourite songs by Oasis, Coldplay and Beyonce during the ceremony and drinks reception.
“I had to walk up a few flights of stairs from the bottom of the driveway at Eaves Hall to ensure no guests saw me beforehand.
“Walking up the stairs proved difficult in a wedding dress and I was very nervous as the louder the string quartet became, the closer I was to the guests and Aidan!
“Eaves Hall were fantastic and we were lucky to have family members which organised a sweet table and a huge cheese board.
The guests were treated to speeches from the best men, Aidan’s father, the bridesmaids and the groom which had the couple crying with laughter.
Robyn also created a video for guests which showed their lives since birth to present day leaving many guests in tears watching.
Robyn said: “The whole day was fabulous from start to finish. It was great celebrating with family and friends and many had travelled from Yorkshire, Scotland, Newbury and Northern Ireland who we don’t get to see as often as we would like to.
“After all the years we have spent together, Aidan never fails to make me laugh and explore new places with me. I am so happy I have married my best friend and I am so excited for our future together as Mr and Mrs Eaves!
Aidan added: “The wedding was the best day of my life and it meant a lot to be able to share it with all our family and friends.
“Robyn looked stunning and I am so pleased that we are finally married. I can’t wait for our honeymoon to America in the summer.”
The couple, who are both 25, will live in Wesham.
