The organisation has published a report which is being used by NHS England to understand the demand for dental care in Lancashire.

The “Your Dentist, Your Say” report is based on the findings from a study of more than 1,000 residents.

It shows 63 per cent as registered with an NHS dentist, 19 per cent with a private dentist, but 18 per cent not registered at all.

But Blackpool has one of the lowest percentages of people registered with any dental practice – around one in four people.

Healthwatch Lancashire chief executive, Gill Brown, said: “I would like to thank the people who shared their views.”

The data will be used to help formulate future health provision on the coast.
