Indie-rockers The 1975 joined forced with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for a truly one-off musical experience in the glorious surroundings of Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom.

The Cheshire band’s performance - a one off ‘symphony’ to bring the Radio One Live Lounge month to a close - was broadcast around the world.

And lead singer Matthew Healy was clearly overwhelmed by the occasion, reduced to tears at one point, brought back from the brink by the sell out crowd.

The 40 minute set had been prepared specially for the Tower Ballroom show - a mix of hits from debut album The 1975 and material from new record I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it.
