The M55 had to be partially closed this afternoon after a cow transporter overturned and cattle began roaming on the carriageway.
Emergency services were called to the accident westbound between junctions two and three, between Wesham and Preston.
Police closed the motorway in the area while a new trailer was brought in and the cattle were rounded up.
Two lanes were reopened at 5.42pm and traffic began easing in the area.
It is not known if any of the cows were injured.
