Staff at a Blackpool nursing home got on their bikes to support good causes.

Budding cyclists at Sandycroft Nursing Home, in Lytham Road, saddled up on exercise bikes and took part in a sponsored Charity Bike-a-thon.

It was a tremendous effort from all of the staff and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated so generously

Participants – including newly-engaged carer Laura Brade – cycled 168 miles to raise money for Trinity Hospice and to help highlight Dementia Awareness Week, which took place earlier this month.

General manager at Sandycroft, Jane Lyth, said: “It was a tremendous effort from all of the staff and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated so generously. Trinity Hospice provides a wonderful service that improves the quality of life for people with terminal illnesses and their families, and we’re very happy to support it in any way we can.”
