A black BMW X3 and silver Vauxhall Corsa were involved in a collision on Wardleys Lane, Hambleton, at around 8.20am, a spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said.

The Corsa ended up in a bush, and suffered damage to its right side, but officers at the scene (pictured) said nobody had been seriously hurt.

The crash happened just past a caravan park, police added, while no serious traffic problems were reported.

Two fire engines and crews, from Blackpool and Bispham, were called out after ‘smoke’ was spotted, although it is now believed to have been steam or airbag powder, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman John Taylor said.

They left the scene after making sure there was no oil spill or debris.
