All are listed in a Fylde Council brochure at: www.fylde.gov.uk/summer and many of the activities are free.

Some have been organised by Fylde Council staff while many have been organised by voluntary groups.

Activities include football, cycling, golf, story-telling, day-time holiday camps, a wartime evacuees’ film night, an evacuees’ exhibition, horse-riding and care of horses, a cinema picnic and a monsters and dragons workshop.

Coun Cheryl Little, chairman of Fylde Council’s tourism and leisure committee, said: “The list of activities is massive and varied this year and we can thank a wide range of voluntary organisations who have pulled out all the stops to involve young people.

Parents can find the long summer holidays a little fraught as they struggle to discover things for their children to do. I hope they will take a close look at what is on offer.

“The range of activities is aimed at people up to the age of 25 and includes indoor and outdoor activities. There really is something for just about everyone.”
