BAD blood between two men boiled over in a St Annes bar when one attacked the other.

Lee Singleton grabbed his victim from behind by the neck, tried to choke him and then threatening to kill him.

Singleton, a 40-year-old father-of-three, of Fordway Avenue, Layton, admitted assault. He was bailed for pre-sentence reports by Blackpool magistrates.

Keith Kirkham, prosecuting, said the victim was at Bar 15 on September 24 when the defendant attacked him, causing a cut mouth and sore jaw.

Further inquiries revealed the victim’s partner had also received a call from the defendant who made threats their home was going to be petrol bombed.

Steven Townley, defending, said: “There was no love lost between the two men. Under extreme provocation my client accepted he grabbed the complainant and attempted to frogmarch him out of the pub.”

Singleton had been on a night out attempting a reconciliation with his wife when the violence occurred.
