Next step in buildto improve bridge

The next step in a building project to improve one of Blackpool's bridges has been made.

Repair work began last month on Devonshire Road Bridge as part of an £11.3m project to upgrade bridges across the resort.

Blackpool Council announced on Thursday workers have now moved the barriers at the bridge and started building the scaffolding for the west side.

The construction of the scaffolding is expected to be completed by next Monday, when it will be sealed off in a similar way to the first half for grit blasting. The building work is expected to last 15 weeks in total.
