A New Year’s Eve reveller was over the alcohol limit when he was stopped by police the morning after.
allum McCombie, a 23-year old warehouse worker, of Loughrigg Terrace, Mereside, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
Andrea Fawcett, prosecuting, said police pulled over McCrombie after seeing him driving a Renault Clio on George Street on January 1 at 7.15am.
A breath test showed 60 microgrammes of alcohol in his body – 35 is the limit.
Patrick Nelligan, defending, said his client had been out celebrating New Year’s Eve. He believed the alcohol would have been out of his system.
