New shale gas protest group is launched

Residents opposed to shale gas extraction gathered to launch a new Fylde protest group.

Frack Free Freck has swelled the ranks of opposition to drilling company Cuadrilla which aims to frack for gas trapped in deep-lying shale rock beneath the Fylde including at Clifton Marsh, less than a mile from Freckleton.
Organiser David Price said: “It was well attended with a steady flow of people passing through signing up to help.” The first official meeting of the group will be at Lytham 
Cricket Club tonight at 7.30pm.
