New houses planned for land close to train station

Land recently cleared close to Layton train station could have five new houses built on it, if Blackpool Council's planners give the go ahead.

The three-bedroom homes, which would get one car parking space each, may be built on land off Pearl Avenue, behind Bromley Close and Bispham Road, plans lodged at the town hall recently revealed.

The land was recently cleared of shrubbery and trees, and is next to another parcel of green land.

In documents, applicant Mr D Parsons, through Alan Jones Chartered Surveyors, said the adjacent site did not contain trees or hedges that ‘might be important as part of the local landscape character’.

His application will be scrutinised by planners before a decision is made.
