Three members of the Booth family joined thousands of shoppers as they opened a shiny new store in Poulton.
Chairman Edwin arrived by the firm’s horse-drawn carriage to join Simon and Graham Booth, to officially open the firm’s latest store.
The Guardian Concert Band performed as shoppers filled the store and Great British Bake Off contestant Dorrett Conway was on hand to give tips and hand out some of her tasty treats.
Graham, property director for the family-owned North West supermarket chain, previously told The Gazette about the Poulton store, situated in the Teanlowe Centre.
He said: “This has been the most ambitious project we have ever undertaken, together with our development partner Maple Grove Developments Ltd.
“It has been extremely challenging to reconcile the requirements of safety, public access and our obligation to existing shopkeepers.

“I am deeply grateful to all in our development and construction team who have contributed to creating a spectacular new town centre focus for Poulton.”
