A new post office is to open in Blackpool serving customers seven days a week.
The branch is being opened at the Spar store on Dickson Road, North Shore, at 1pm next Thursday.
Its operating hours will be from 6.30am until 10pm daily amounting to more than 108 hours a week, which post office chiefs say will make it more convenient for people to use the facility.
Customers of main UK banks will also be able to access their accounts.
Other services will include bill payments, cash withdrawals, access to foreign currency, postage, home shopping collections and returns.
Karen Bragg, Post Office network operations manager, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.”
She added: “We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident this brand new post office will ensure that people in the community have easy access to our services.”
The opening is part of a national modernisation and investment programme taking place across the whole of the post office network.
While a number ofstand alone branches have closed in recent times, the trend is now for them to be replaced within convenience stores which are already open for longer hours.
