Negotiations ongoing for link road scheme
Talks between Lancashire County Council, Fylde Council, Fylde MP Mark Menzies and Kensington Developments on the building of the road have been taking place for several months.
It is hoped, if built, the scheme could ease traffic, following a series of incidents last month including two crashes on Queensway which caused major delays.

Hide AdFylde West County Coun Paul Hayhurst said: “It would make such a difference to Lytham, St Annes and the Fylde as a whole.
“It would make getting to Lytham and St Annes much easier and have economic benefits.”
The road is set to be built by Kensington Homes as part of the construction of the Queensway housing development.
The road is expected to be built in phases linked to the number of homes developed.

Hide AdBut after being guaranteed £2m towards the project from the Government – cash which is only available until the end of this year – authorities had started talks to bring forward the construction of the route.
