Murder squad detectives are appealing for information leading to the whereabouts of a man they would like to speak to following the death of a 30-year-old Polish man.

Marcin Pawlow, from Poland, was found outside an address on Central Drive with stab wounds to his hip, leg and shoulder at around 1am on Wednesday.

He later died at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Six men, aged 52, 32, 45, 31, 33 and 34, all from Blackpool, were arrested on suspicion of murder but have since been released.

Officers would like to speak to a man called Wojcieh Sylwester Sobisz, 36, from Poland, in connection with the incident. He is described as white, around 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, of muscular build with a shaved head. At the time of the incident he was believed to be wearing a grey hooded top, grey jogging trousers and a blue long-sleeved zipped hooded jacket.

Detectives understand he may have travelled from Blackpool to the Midlands area during the evening of December 23.

Det Supt Andy Murphy, of Lancashire Police, said: “We would like to identify this individual as soon as possible. We believe he was in the Central Drive area on the night of Mr Pawlow’s death and are keen to trace him. If you recognise the description of this man we would urge you not to approach him but contact police immediately.”

Call police on 101.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately on 101 quoting log reference 0066 of December 23 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
