He has been arrested on suspicion of murder, but was taken to hospital under police guard for treatment for what are thought to be self-inflicted injuries. He is due to return to Sussex for questioning when he is released.

A post mortem conducted showed Mr Bond suffered multiple stab wounds.

His mother Anne Manley-Rollings said: “He was always happy, cheerful and he enjoyed life.”

Step-father Sonny added: “He was a gentle giant, kind as well and he liked to help others.”

House-to-house enquiries are continuing in the area.
