Trips to the dentist soon come around.

But, unlike normal, I was taking William solo this time.

(Fear not – the hubby won’t be missing out on this bi-annual treat.)

I’d booked an early appointment to get it out of the way... on the one day William decided to have a lie-in.

So it didn’t go well when I had to drag the sleepyhead away from his Lego and into the car.

Thankfully, he soon remembered Peppa Pig had been to the dentist in one episode.

She hadn’t run away screaming or lost any teeth, so it can’t be that bad.

And, it really isn’t – our dentist is lovely and welcoming.

William watched as my teeth were checked out and then he cautiously sat in the big leather chair.

He lent back no problems and opened his mouth, saying “eeeee” and “ahhhh” as instructed.

He got a sticker for being so good, but then came the million dollar question from the dentist: “Does he still have a dummy?”

“Just at bedtime”, I sheepishly explained – knowing full well we need to get rid of them for good.

“We’re going to send them to Santa,” I quickly added.

So as we walked out, William agreed that same day we would be posting his didily (that’s his dummy!) to Santa.

Then as I got the little chap into his car seat, I banged his head on the car by accident.

Cue a lot of crying and screaming for his...

Yes, you guessed it – his didily!
