Mummy Hub to give accessibleparent support
A group of Blackpool parents have banded together to launch a new '˜Mummy Hub' to provide top-notch parenting support in Blackpool.
Group founder Caroline Thompson said: “We want this group to be accessible to everyone, we don’t want new mums to feel any pressure at all when they come to the group, which is why we want to offer it free. As a charity, every- one involved is a volunteer and helping because they want to.”
The charity group is set to meet every Friday at the Claremont Community Centre on Claremont Road.
The hypnobirthing practitioner, who lives in Bispham, was inspired to set up the ‘mummy hub’ by her own 20-month-old son, George.
She said: “When George was born we really struggled with breastfeeding and it was only a local group that kept us going.
“Fortunately with the help of other mums we got through it so I now want to be able to give something back.”
Blackpool and Preston Stillbirth and Neonatal Death(Sands) chairwoman Helen Grimshaw added: “This group is really exciting and fresh, something different for the local area.
“We can’t wait to start, and we look forward to welcoming every single person who walks through the door.”
