Muscles were well and truly in abundance when a former Mr Universe visited a Blackpool gym.
Famous bodybuilder Dave Titterton, who won the award in 2009, was on hand to give fitness advice to around 50 people who turned up at the Reform Health club, on Milbourne Street, central Blackpool.
Club owner Maria Gregoriou said: “He was mainly there for training, tips and nutritional advice.
“He also spent some time with the children who have swimming lessons here to give them advice about healthy eating as well.”
Former boxer Dave has been bodybuilding since 2003 and has won several high profile accolades during his career.
And Maria says around 50 punters who turned up to the event on Tuesday enjoyed his visit.
She said: “They all found him very helpful and he gave them a lot of advice.
“Her thought the gym was great too, he loved it.
“He trains in many places and he really liked the atmosphere we have here, he said it was really friendly.
“It’s fully equipped so there everything you need for bodybuilding and weight training here.”
A proportion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to Trinity Hospice, in Bispham.
Dave, who is from Yorkshire, says boxing was a passion of his from the age of five, but he also enjoyed football and karate when he was younger.
While weight training in 2003, a gym owner suggested he take up body building – and he’s never looked back.
Winning Mr Britain in 2009 qualified him to take compete for the Mr Universe title the same year.
He says winning both titles in the same year is a rare achievement but insisted there “is still plenty to do” in his career.
