Blackpool North and Cleveleys MP Paul Maynard has asked UK banking chiefs to think creatively in a bid to protect the high street.
Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) to closing two branches in his constituency.
He said: “I am disappointed and have written to the chief executive making my views very clear, not least due to the fact RBS Group has previously used the existence of these branches to justify the closure of others.
“I recognise more people are using internet banking, but that does not mean vulnerable individuals and business customers should suffer.
“There is still a place for banks on our high street.
“Among the ideas put forward on Facebook was the creation of community banking hubs, where a number of different companies might maintain a presence under one roof.
“I believe the idea may have merit and have written to the chief executives of all of Britain’s major banks asking for their feedback.”
Bispham RBS is due to close on November 5, and the Cleveleys branch is due to close on August 6.
