Westcliffe Drive in Layton was partially closed due to an 'emergency closure' this morning, Blackpool Transport said.

Workers were pictured in the busy road carrying out repairs, though it wasn't immediately clear what the cause of the problem was.

Motorists were being diverted away, while the six, nine, 11, and 14 buses were also diverting via Grange Road and St Walburga's Road, Blackpool Transport added.

The road was reportedly re-opened by 10.30am.
