A mother allowed her teenage son to smoke cannabis at her home a judge was told.

Sara Dean broke the law because she wanted her 17-year-old son to use the drug in a safe environment rather than in a den with other drug users.

Dean,, 36, of Buxton Avenue, Bispham, pleaded guilty to permitting premises to be used for the smoking of cannabis and possession of amphetamine.

She was fined £120 and ordered to pay £20 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Rod Ross sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor, Kerry Grieve, said police executed a drugs search warrant at Dean’s home on February 26 at 8.55pm.
