More control '¨of care choices

An organisation which helps people have more control over their health and social care packages is developing a new project in Blackpool.

Northern Independent Living CIC (community interest company) is in the process of developing a scheme in the town called ‘My Life, My Choice’.

It will offer information, advice and advocacy support to individuals around personal budgets and personal health budgets and is set to be up and running by next spring.

The aim is to give people more support.

A spokesman said: “We are keen to develop an advisory group to support and guide the development of the project working alongside our board of directors.

“We are looking for a small group of people with different experience including people with life experience, business, legal or an NHS background.”

Participants would have to attend a two hour meeting every three months.
