Men in court over shop raid

Two men accused of twice raiding a Lytham shopping arcade in balaclavas and stealing electrical goods totalling £15,000 have appeared in court.

Lee Porter, 30, of Plungington Road, Preston, faces two charges of burgling Clifton Walk Shopping Arcade, stealing mobile phones, computers and accessories on December 7 and 8 last year.

Defence lawyer, Paolo Passerini, said his client would not indicate pleas to the offences at this stage. Porter was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on July 24 by Blackpool

magistrates.

Co-accused, Raymond Mercer, 35, of Clitheroes Lane, Freckleton, who faces two identical charges of burglary, was not present at court and had his case adjourned to April 25 for hearing at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
