Membranes bring punk perfection to second year of their festival

There's a right Lancashire hotpot happening in Manchester on the early May bank holiday, when The Membranes, Evil Blizzard, One Sided Horse and The Lovely Eggs all team together for the Membranes and Friends Festival.

After the success of the 2017 Membranes and Friends event at the Manchester Ritz, they’ve made it an annual occasion.

On the night The Membranes, who were formed in Blackpool, will perform alongside the 20-piece BIMM Choir, debuting songs from the band’s forthcoming new double album.

Preston’s rubber masked band that we all love to hate - Evil Blizzard - will also be on the bill. And look out for their singing drummer Mark Whiteside, as he steps out from behind the drums to perform as his alter-ego One Sided Horse.

Completing the Lancashire quartet are The Lovely Eggs, a Lancaster duo on the edge of a big breakthrough, and performing on the back of their own sold out tour of the UK.

Rounding out the bill are Sink Ya Teeth, a new Norwich two-piece of jagged sparse ruffs and electronic darkness, and The Cravats, who were John Peel favourites.

It’s all taking place on Saturday, May 5 at Manchester Ritz. Doors open 4pm.

Tickets cost £24.50 from SEE Tickets, DICE - UK, Ireland & USA, O2 Ritz Manchester box office, Louderthanwar and The Membranes website - www.themembranes.co.uk.
