The nine youngsters – all aged between eight and 12 –have been handed roles including mini chief of fun and the mini chief of treats.

But it’s not all sweet tasting and laughs –they’ll have to come up with ideas to improve the attraction in return for free admission until they turn 18.

They met with Tower general manager Kenny Mew, who gave them the good news that they had been chosen from 20 hopefuls to take on the roles.

He said: “We’re all quite old at the Blackpool Tower and it’s about time we brought some young, cool and clever minds on board.

“So we looked for candidates who had big ideas, were very funny and loved going to the attractions to help us improve the experience for everybody who visits.

“I’m really looking forward to hearing what ideas they have and what they’re planning to do.”
