Mayor backs fund raising drive for RNLI

Residents are being invited to help give a fund raising boost to the RNLI by supporting a civic event at Fylde Council.

Lytham St Annes lifeboat team have been adopted as a mayoral charity – which means the Mayor, Coun Kevin Eastham and Mayoress, Val Eastham, will dedicate themselves to raising money for the life-saving charity throughout their civic year.

The pair will host a coffee morning at Fylde town hall in St Annes between 10am and 11.30am on September 17.

Mrs Eastham said: “We all admire the lifeboatmen’s efforts and they receive no financial support at all from the state.

“They are entirely voluntary and it means that we citizens must do what we can to support them.”

Tickets cost £3 and include coffee and biscuits.
