A gym-worker took on a mammoth task in aid of Sport Relief.

Mat Wignall, group fitness manager at Village Urban Resort, Heron’s Reach, Blackpool, set himself the challenge of rowing the distance of the River Thames, running the distance of two marathons and cycling the distance of Land’s End to Great Yarmouth – across the country, in just three weeks.

Mat has been using the rowing machine in the gym, running on the treadmill and riding a spin bike - on top of working shifts and teaching fitness classes.

Bosses at Village Blackpool have said they will match his fundraising total. You can still sponsor him by visiting www.justgiving.com/MatWignall
