Marine Hall set to host Denver celebration

A celebration of the life of country music great John Denver comes to the Marine Hall in Fleetwood later this month.

John Denver was just 53-years-old when his twin-
engine plane crashed into the sea off the Californian coast in October 1997.

But his music and lyrics live on through the tribute show – ‘A Celebration of John Denver’.

Wayne Denton plays John Denver and show organisers say the production transports the audience back to a time when country music filled the airwaves of every radio station around the globe.

Wayne said: “Despite being an entertainer and winning New Faces as a vocalist in my own right, it was always the music of Denver which was my first passion and I think it’s fair to say he was a hugely influencing factor on my career”.

His performance in A
 Celebration of John Denver’ features backing by musicians along with video footage throughout the performance.

It will be held at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood, on Saturday, April 25 from 7.30pm.
