Prosecutor, Martine Connah, said Burrows’s cousin had gone away with her boyfriend and the defendant was staying at her flat.

While she was away there had been trouble with neighbours and Burrows had been asked to leave.

She returned to find holes in her flat and a smashed mirror.

The cousin said she was very upset as she and Burrows had been the best of friends.

After the flat was damaged the landlord asked her to leave.

Mitch Sarangi, defending, said Burrows had been living at the flat since January.

At the time of the offence he had a lot on his plate and was helping to care for his son.

When he was told to leave the flat he had lost it and caused the damage.
