Crew Manager Mark Preddy said: "The man had been sitting on the embankment drinking with friends when he slipped and fell into the lake.

"He was unable to get himself out of the water. His legs went numb after he got cold.

"Once of his friends called us out to help. We used lifting equipment to get him out.

"Paramedics checked him over but he didn't need to go to hospital. Once he warmed up a bit the feeling returned to his legs and he was ok.

"We'd like to remind members of the public to take care near open water. Please keep safe and always obey any warning signs.
