Man punched and held in headlock in violent daylight robbery

A man was battered by a group of up to six thugs who stole his watch from his wrist.

Police are appealing for information following the attack, which happened on Sunday between 4:30pm and 4:40pm in the Holmfield Road, Wilshaw Road and Warbreck Hill Road area of North Shore.

The 28-year-old man was approached from behind by a group of up to six men. He was punched in the head and fell to the ground, where another man held him in head lock as he was punched in the face several times.

he offenders removed his watch from his wrist and stole his white iPhone 6 from his pocket.

PC Joe Isaacs from Blackpool Police said: “The level of violence used against the victim is truly shocking, all for the sake of a mobile phone and a watch.

“This happened in broad daylight and so we are hoping that someone, maybe a dog walker or passing driver or pedestrian, will have seen something."
