A man found apparently fast asleep on the pavement in Blackpool with cans of alcohol near him was in breach of his bail.

Anthony Russell should have been miles away living at his sister’s in Scotland.

Russell, 37, of Erdington Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a condition of his bail.

District Judge Pamela Baldwin agreed to rebail him with extra conditions. He must live at Erdington Road, not enter Thornton or Cleveleys and report to police three times a week.

Stephen Duffy, defending, said Russell had gone to his sister’s, but then returned to the resort.

He had been having mental health problems and was admitted to a psychiatric unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

After he was discharged he went to live with a friend in Erdington Road.
