The ‘horrendous’ crime was uncovered following an investigation by Blackpool Police’s Awaken Team and the Public Protection Unit.

Scott was arrested in February 2015 and analysis of a mobile phone showed a video of a girl believed to be aged between four and five years being abused.

DC Mark Hartley from the Awaken team said: “Scott is clearly a dangerous and manipulative individual and the sentence given today reflects the gravity of this horrendous crime.

“The Awaken team and all at Lancashire Constabulary remain absolutely committed to tackling all forms of child sexual abuse and to protecting the most vulnerable in our society and I would encourage anyone who has been, or knows someone who has been, sexually abused, groomed or exploited to come forward and contact police confident in the knowledge they will be dealt with sensitively and professionally.”
