A MAN has been arrested after a fight in some flats spilled out on to the street.

Police say a 49-year-old man suffered a head injury after a fight outside Williams Hill bookmakers and Mickey’s Bedding Store on Victoria Road West, Cleveleys.

A 22-year-old man, from Cleveleys, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and was being questioned by police yesterday.

Police were called to the incident around 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The victim, also from Cleveleys, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital to be treated for a cut to his head.

It is thought he may have been punched.

Det Insp Andy Bunn, of Fleetwood CID, said the two men are known to each other and appealed for anyone who may have any information about the incident to come forward.

He said: “The man has been hit on the head. It seems it was a passing blow which has caused a small cut to his head.

“There has been a bit of a fight or disturbance in some flats on Victoria Road West involving people that are known to each other. The fight spilled out onto the street.”

Anyone with information should call the police on their non-emergency number 101.
