A man broke a court order when he failed to report in at Blackpool Central police station

Nigel Wilde, 34, formerly of Cherry Lodge, Islington, Blackburn, now of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to breaching bail.

Malcolm Isherwood, prosecuting, said Wilde had pleaded not guilty to assault on police and possession of class A drugs, for which he was due for trial on August 13.

Wilde had been bailed on condition he signed on daily at Blackpool police station. On July 4 he failed to report.

Steven Townley, defending, said Wilde was homeless.

He had lost his registration at the doctors and was admitted to hospital on the Friday. On Saturday Wilde had other things on his mind and failed to sign on.

Blackpool magistrates agreed to rebail him.
