A man is alleged to have been bare-chested and carrying a 9in hunting knife when he was involved in an armed brawl on a residential street at Blackpool.

Daniel Hutchinson is said to have yelled at other men who were carrying weapons including a baseball bat and a pole: “Why don’t you come and fight like a man.”

Hutchinson, 23, formerly of Cunliffe Road, Blackpool, now of no fixed address, pleaded not guilty to possessing an offensive weapon and threatening behaviour.

The offences are alleged to have taken place in the resort’s Cunliffe Road about on Friday June 26.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court and opposed bail for Hutchinson. Hutchinson was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on July 29, by Blackpool magistrates.
