A man accused of attacking a guest at a party with a broken bottle has made his first appearance at court.

Thomas Curley, 23, of Central Drive, Blackpool, is charged with maliciously wounding a man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm on July 1 this year.

Curley is also charged with assaulting a taxi driver causing him actual bodily harm on Saturday, December 13.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, asked for the case to go to crown court.

Defence lawyer Tony Wilbraham did not ask for bail for his client.
