Man dies from mystery injuries

Alexander Keir, 38, was found on Bromley Road by a member of the public earlier this month.

His injuries remain a mystery and police are still investigating what happened shortly before he was found at around 2am on August 5.

Mr Keir was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital before being moved to Royal Preston Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

He died on August 12 but police have only today confirmed his death.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “A post mortem examination took place yesterday and established the cause of death as head injuries.

“Officers are continuing their enquiries to ascertain how Alexander came about his injuries and are awaiting further forensic tests.”
