A MAN has been charged with the murder of a Blackpool great-grandmother who was found beaten to death in her home.

Delia Hughes, 85, was found at her flat in Southampton on August 18.

Jamie Lee Boult, 24, of Chessel Crescent, Southampton, was taken into custody on Sunday morning.

He is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Hampshire Constabulary said.

A 29-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Mrs Hughes was originally from Blackpool but had lived in Southampton for the past 17 years.
