A man accused of having a hammer and smashing a window at his girlfriend’s home has made his first appearance in court.

Zack Wileman, 24, of Martingdale Avenue, Fleetwood, pleaded not guilty to possessing an offensive weapon and causing damage at the port on March 19 when he appeared before a judge at a magistrates’ court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court.

Defence lawyer, Paul Robinson, did not ask for bail for his client.

Wileman was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court.

He will next appear at the higher court on April 11, District Judge Jeff Brailsford, sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court, told him.
