Plans to modernise a Blackpool Post Office have been put forward.
The plans would see the Preston Old Road branch open an extra 65 hours a week, bosses say.
This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes
The Post Office says a new “open-plan” design would be introduced as part of a nationwide overhaul of the business.
Customers are now invited to have their say on the changes, which would see the branch open from 6am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday and between 7am and 10pm on Sundays.
Post Office area manager Sarah Cottrell said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Blackpool and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Customers can have their say on the changes by calling 03457 22 33 44 or online at www.postofficeviews.co.uk and using the branch code 197405.
The deadline for submissions is August 18.
