M6 set to shut for nearly two hours after car flips

A stretch of the M6 had been closed after a car has flipped over.

The incident happened at around 2.15pm and between junction 34 near Lancaster to juntion 36 near Kirby Lonsdale of the M6 northbound is still closed as Cumbria Road Police and North west Ambualnce Service attended the smash.

Lancashire Road Police are also at the scene carrying out initial assessment and did say they hoped to have one lane open in 20 minutes but Traffic England now say the roads won’t clear until until at least 4.30pm.

Police are asking for anyone wanting to travel past the area to find alternative routes.
